Worked examples
Example 1 — a shirt that does not fit
You buy a shirt for ₹1,699 and a pair of shoes for ₹6,799 (total ₹8,498, free delivery) and pay by UPI. The shirt is too tight. On day 4 you raise a return for the shirt with the reason “size / fit”. You can either get a replacement in size L, or a refund of ₹1,699 to your UPI account in 5–7 business days (or to your Sparkle Gifts wallet instantly).
Example 2 — a coupon and a partial return
You buy two items for ₹1,500 and ₹1,000 (₹2,500) and use coupon SPARKLE200 (₹200 off on orders above ₹1,999), paying ₹2,300. The discount is shared in proportion: ₹120 on the first item, ₹80 on the second. You return the ₹1,000 item. The order is now worth ₹1,500, which is below the coupon's ₹1,999 minimum, so the coupon no longer applies: the ₹120 discount you kept on the other item is deducted. Refund = ₹1,000 − ₹80 − ₹120 = ₹800.
Example 3 — a damaged item on a cash on delivery order
You order a ₹399 lamp with cash on delivery and pay ₹399 + ₹49 delivery + ₹29 COD fee = ₹477 at the door. The lamp arrives cracked. You raise a return with photos; it is approved automatically. Because the item was damaged, the delivery fee is refunded too: ₹448 (₹399 + ₹49) is credited to your Sparkle Gifts wallet. The COD fee is not refundable.
Example 4 — groceries
Groceries are non-returnable. If a pack arrives damaged or you receive the wrong item, raise a return with photos within 7 days and we refund the item in full, including the delivery fee. There is no need to send the item back in most cases.
Replacement
If you choose a replacement, we ship the new item as soon as the original is picked up, at no extra charge. If the replacement is out of stock we refund you instead.
When a return can be rejected
- The return window has closed.
- The item is used, washed, damaged by the customer, or missing tags, box, accessories or freebies.
- The item returned is different from the one delivered.
- For electronics: the original box is missing, or the device is locked to an account.
